Hi there guys,
When I refer to famous people, I have to mention that there
is a long list of them, but in my personal opinion, the greatest Chilean of all
time may be the former president Pedro Aguirre Cerda, who lead the country from
1938 to 1941. His government is considered one of the most important periods in
Chile’s history cause of the emphasis on the educational area and politics
heavily focused to consolidate an internal (national) industrialization. The
education change processes were known by a phrase that the president said in an
occasion and with time it was considered as a campaign support; he said “to gobernate, is to educate”. In the
second topic about the industrial area, the politics were known by its focus
directed to grow the diversity and value of the manufacturing industries, based
on a gradual replacement of foreign imports and so to reach and create more
working slots. I think this was a very important period to take good examples
in order to focus specific and important public policies that may affect most
part of the country inhabitants. For the same reason, If Pedro Aguirre Cerda
would still alive, I will really like to ask him many things to stop some bad
and incorrect ways to take social, political and economic topics like the
recent conflict between the state and its education ministry and most part of
the teachers from public schools and their demands through the country.
Pedro Aguirre Cerda (1879-1941)
I think he was a very important person for our country, specially for the lower social classes.
